Thanks for the information. Do you by any chance know which niece took care of Roy prior to his death? I don't remember her name.

Thank you for your posting. Pearl (Smart) Uber was the daughter of Thomas B and Emma L (Sillix) Smart. Therefore, Roy Updegrove's wives, Nell Sillix and Pearl Smart Uber, were cousins.

John Krey i beleive had Catherine Krey who married Christian Haldeman.
Cathreine was born about 1715 in Switzerland.
Sytge i beleive remarried someone, i may be incorrect.
Sytge is OP Den Graeff according to gencircles records i'd seen.

Arthur would've been OP Den Graeff possibly, but due to spelling conflicts it's unsure. You are correct about a connection to Herman, or Hermon. the OP Den Graeff family is traced to the mid 1400s on my tree that i've been working on.
Sytge Psyche OP Den Graeff would've been a descendant of Herman/Hermon, and married Jan Krey, who had a daughter Catherine Krey, and she married Christian Haldeman, ancestor of my Grandfatehr John Clayton Haldeman 3rd

Re: Op den Graeff - Ann(a)
I have an Updegraff family bible which lists the birth of Annie G. Updegraff on 23 August 1876. This Annie's parents were J. H. Updegraff & Mary A. Gayle. The bible was presented to Mr./ Mrs. Updegraff by Eddie J. Updegraff on 25 Dec. 1884. It lists Annie's brothers/ sisters. Please respond if this may be a connection to your Ann/ Anna/ Annie. Denise

Re: Op den Graeff - Ann(a)
Hello all - sorry to be late to the party.
I too descend from Sytge Op Den Graeff (parents = Herman Isaaks Op Den Graeff & Deborah Van Bebber) and her husband Jan (John) Krey, through their daughter Catherine Crey and her husband Christian Haldeman.
I've gleaned this info from familysearch and through a Haldeman/Holdeman cousin I til recently didn't know I had.
I'm interested in confirming Sytge's parents and any generations before them, as well as Jan Krey's parents, grandparents, etc.
I'd be happy to share info with any of you.

Re: Op den Graeff - Ann(a)
Hi, did you ever find out anything? I have seen Liesbet Van Bebber(Bibber) listed as the mother as well as Deborah. I found a book. Penn. German Roots Across the Ocean by Marion F. Egge that lists Sytge Updegrave Krey as the wife of Hubert (Hupert) Casel who were the parents of Elizabeth Cassel. It also lists the children she had with Jan Krey. However, there is no mention of her parentage. Happy hunting and thanks for sharing anything you know!
