On your message of 9-9 you mentioned your grandfather Leo. Leo was the full brother of my grandmother Linda Ellen Upchurch-Marlar. I have scads of information on this family. Including children's names, spouses and dates of both sets of children. Believe it or not great grandfather Joseph Upchurch had sixteen children by the two wives. Get with me and I will give you what you want. Marilyn mgcarter@aol.com

Deb: Yes my Upchurch family did live in Kentucky. My Grandmother Linda Ellen Upchurch was born in Suzie, of Wayne Co. Others were born in Cabell and other locations of Wayne Co. Grandma Ellen's father was Joseph Wesley of Wayne Co. also. The family moved to Indian Territory of Oklahoma around 1902 or so.

Deb: "Why Oklahoma?" Boy. . .I wish I had a dollar for every time a member of the family asked that!
As far as I can see, the move had to do with the Oil Field work being done in Oklahoma Territory. Seems like I heard that Joseph Wesley and his many children headed out here to work in the Oil country. Osage County, OK, was especially rich in the petroleum resourses and mineral rights were being bought by the dozens for Osage Indian spending money.
