I think most the silings came over on the boat from Bohemia to Baltimore, Maryland and one might have been born on the boat if I remember right reading about them.In the book they came over to America in 1863 from Bohemia. They landed Baltimore. From there went to Cleveland Ohio. A son Charles was born next day. They had been on the ocean for 3 months and went to Iowa City by rail, then came to Tama County. They bought 112 acres of land in Salt Creek township, 31/2 miiles east of Chelsea. Living a log cabin they cleared the land for farming, they had 6 boys & 4 girls.

Hi, I have been researching my husbands geneology and his grandmother was Agnes Upah, daughter of James Wenzel Upah who was son of Josef Jupa and Marie Vetrosky. But I can find no info before Josef and Marie. Does anyone have any other info.
Thanks
Nancy
