I am living in Germany. My UNANGST family have their roots in Baden Wuerttemberg, formerly known as PALATINA. Many of them immigrated to USA in the 18th and 19th century. They were all protestants. Most of them were born in locations like Boedigheim, Buchen, Zimmern, Angeltuern, Mosbach, Tauberbischofsheim etc. In Geramny are living approx. 150 Unangst. I want to built up a familytree. Could we exchange datas?
Thanks
Guenter Unangst

To Guenter Unangst--My ancesters came from Boedigheim to US in 1749. The oldest one found so far is Peter 1700-1747. Is he related to your line?

Dear Joan,
I have to check if this Peter Unangst is directly in my line. My files goe back only till 1752 when a Johann Martin Unangst was born. He lived and died in a neighborvillage to Boedigheim. Recently I got visit of a certain Owen Unangst, living in Denver, Colorado, and we both visited the cemetery of Boedigheim. We found several gravestones bearing the name Unangst. I think all decendands of the Unangsts living in US today have their roots in Boedigheim.
Best regards
Guenter

Dear Researchers,

I am a descendent of both Bernhart UNANGST and Peter UNANGST, sons of George Heinrich UNANGST, for those familiar with the US line. While researching I found the "Patience" ship passenger list of Sept. 19, 1749. It lists Jeorg Henerich UNANGST (George Heinrich) and another former resident of Bödigheim, Bernhart MÜLLER who I am also a descendent of. George Heinrich UNANGST married Bernhart MÜLLER's sister Elisabeth Margareta MÜLLER. Both the MÜLLER and UNANGST families were residents of Bödigheim. Bernhart's father, Johann Valentine MÜLLER, was born in Erfeld, which I believe is a town not too far from Bödigheim. Bernhart married Maria Eva MÜLLER who was the daughter of Johann George MÜLLER and Anna Susanna UNANGST, who was also born in Bödigheim on 12/19/1695. I have not been able to connect Anna Susanna UNANGST with the line I already have nor have I been able to link Johann George MÜLLER's line to Bernhart MÜLLER's line, but I do know they are from the same area, Bödigheim. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Kyle Miller

Note: Both families when arriving in America settled in the same place, Williams Twp., Northampton Co., PA. They continued to marry into each other’s families, in my direct line there are two recorded UNANGST - MILLER marriages.

Does any Unangst researcher have information for a Thomas Unangst born 1809. He died in 1880 in Mercer County, PA. I think he was born in eastern Penna. He was married to Susannah Seiple born May 14, 1807 although other records indicate Susannah was married to Isaac Unangst who died in 1854 in Williams Twp. Northampton County. Susannah is buried in Mercer County along with her husband Thomas.
