I have conducted research into the microfilmed church records of Boedigheim and have found errors in past research. Bernhardt Mueller's parents were Johann Mueller and Maria Eva Kost. There is no connection to a Johann Valentine Mueller as other researchers have published online, and which I previously believed to be accurate information. I have published some of my Miller/Mueller family research online at www.kylelmiller.com - under the Miller-Mueller tab.

So what you're saying is...there's NO Johann VALENTINE married to Maria Eva Kost ???

Correct, no VALENTINE at all. Someone, at some point a long time ago, connected the Müller family of Boedigheim with the Valentine Müller family in Erfeld. There is no evidence for this connection. After consulting the original records on microfilm, it is JOHANN Müller who married Maria Eva Kost, a daughter of Johann "Hans" Philip Kost and Anna Barbara Haussecker (note: NOT Hausbecker as appears online). Johann Müller was the son of JOHANNES Müller (again no Valentine)and Barbara Keilbach.

Also, similarly, there is an issue with what has been published and copied online about the wife of Georg Heinrich Unangst(1723) - Elisabeth Margaretha. Many researchers, including myself at one time, claim that her last name is Müller, and was the sister of Bernhardt Müller. No Müller by that name was baptized at the time in Boedigheim. Instead, there is an Elisabetha Margaretha HEUTER born in Boedigheim on 23 April 1727 - note: it is the same day as appears on the tombstone of Elisabetha Margaretha, wife of Georg Heinrich Unangst. Unfortunately there is a gap in the microfilmed original Boedigheim records and the marriage record of George Heinrich Unangst and Elisabetha Margaretha falls into this gap - about 1747.

Let me know if you have any questions. I haven't yet updated my website with my Unangst research, but I hope to soon.

I am looking for information on my ggrandmother Esta Vera Unangst. She was born in 1883 in Mercer Co Pennsylvania. Married Carl Davis Walker in 1900 and died in Jefferson County Ohio in 1963. She lived most of her adult/married life in Akron Ohio.
She has a sister Mrs. Pearl Gibson of Warren PA.
I have not found any information about her parents.
I would appreciate any information you have about her and or her family.

It's very confusing. Here is another record on Ancestry where they insist that the wife's name was Elisabeth Margareta Moella. What do you make of it?

Georg Heinrich Unangst (son of Peter Unangst) was born April 19, 1723 in Bodigheim, Mosbach, Baden, Germany, and died July 02, 1803 in Williams Township, Northampton County, Pa. He married Elisabeth Margareta Moella on Abt. 1745 in Bodigheim, Mosbach, Baden, Germany, daughter of Bernhardt Moella and Eva.

Notes for Georg Heinrich Unangst:
These notes were provide by William L. Cain of Manchester-by- the-Sea, Ma.
George Heinrich and his wife Margaretha of Wurtenberg, Germany were Palatinates who sailed from Rotterdam, Holland on the ship "Patience". Hugh Steel, Master, Pa.
The shipped arrived in Philadelphia, Pa on September 13, 1749. With George and his wife were their sons, twins of 1 year, Bernhardt and Leonhardt. Also were his wife's
parents, Bernhardt and Eva Moeller. (Reference: German and Swiss Immigrants, Rupp) (by ecf FTM CD-354 and the passenger list of the Patience of 1749 provided by
Olive Tree Org. at http://www.execpc.com/~trarbach/Patience/patience_home.html)

There are communion records of George and his wife for many years in St. Luke's Church of Williams Township. They are all buried in the cemetery next to St. Luke's Church. In the Spring of 1763, Bernhardt and Leonhardt, age 15 years were confirmed and made communicants of that church. After that no more is recorded about Leonhardt and we presume he died. There is no grave marker in the cemetery.

George Unangst was listed as a taxpayer in 1766 and owned forty acres of cleared land and eighty acres of woodland in Williams Township. He was one of the original trustees of the old Philip Schlauch or Blue Church organized June 6, 1776. He also belonged to the Comittee of Public Safety from Northampton County. (Reference Matthew Henry's History of Northampton County.) (Reference FTM CD-130)
