You and I are probably second or third cousins. I was born in Portsmouth, VA. My mother was the daughter of George Charles Umphlett. George Charles Jr. was her brother. She died during heart surgery in 1976 and my grandmother (your great grandmother) died later in 1977. I have a partial genealogy of the Umphlett family and can send it to you. I have been working on my geneology for several years. I have two brothers and a sister who are located around the country.
