I just started researching my family history. My father is Earnest Carol Umphlett who was adopted by George Aric Umphlett (Born in 1901). George Umphlett married Ceclia Byrd according to my father's birth certificate. They lived in Perquimans County, North Carolina. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!
