Hi I have a mystery on my hands. My mother has done research on my Katherine Umbarger and swears she married an unknown Patten and then married John Cunningham, widowed 1864, one son John Cunningham and then married Edward Welsh all of Hennepin Illinois. I have found her and Edward on the 1870 Ill cencus, but the Patten connection does not match up. My Katherine was born in 1827, but died in 1902. Can you help? Mary Curley-Reed

I haven't done any research for a long time, but if you contact donna_preston@hotmail.com, she might know something. She is a desendant of David & Catherine (Umbarger) Patten and her family has a lot of information about this line. Your information is interesting seeing that the information is so close, but doesn't match up. Donna and her family gave me the information I put out there and they have documentation on the birth and death dates etc. of these two. I believe our David outlived Catherine and went on to remarry, which is the exact opposite of your information. Good Luck, I hope you find what you're looking for!!

HI Dale,
I have been quite confused with my mothers research regarding my Catherine Umbarger. I have not found any evidence of her marrying David Patten and then my great great grandfather John Cunningham. He died in 1864 and she then married Edward Welsh. They lived in Hennepin Illinois and she died Aug 1902. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
