Researching the Uhing family who settled in the mid 1800's around West Point, Nebraska.

My ancestors came from Germany. One brother went to West Point and the other stayed in the Hartington area. My ancestor was the one from the Hartington area. However, last year my mother compiled a lot of information on the whole Uhing clan. She made up a big family tree book, also. But that may have the info you would like. Just let me know if I can help.

Uhings from West Point, Nebraska
My ancestors: John H. Uhing settled in Cumings County in June 1870 accompanying his parents ( Henry and Katherine Uhing). He was born in Germany in 1859. He married Catherine Stolte, and had 8 children. I would like to know more, and I do have most of the current history. Will share. Elaine

I am looking for information on the Henry E. Uhing Family. He married Emma Reebe (Riibe) on April 4, 1903. We are interested in the Riibe side of the family. If you can help, please let me know. Thanks, Clara

Carol; I am also interested in the Henry E. Uhing that married Emma Reebe, (Riibe). Have found out that family had four children and that one, Ida, died when she was a teen ager. Their other children were: Bernard, Mary and Arthur. Hope you can help me fill in more of this family tree.

I came across the Uhing family while I was researching Agatha Mattes who was born 1849 in Renquishausen, Kingdom of Wuerttemberg, Germany. In July 1854 Agatha emigrated with her parents Ivo (John) and Maria Mattes and her siblings from Renquishausen to the US, where they first settled in Clinton, Iowa, before the Mattes family came to Washington County, Nebraska.
Agatha Mattes married Ludwig (Louis) Uhing May 22, 1869 in West Point, Cuming Co. I guess Agatha Mattes was your ancestor, right?
