My late mom's godmother was Colomba Maresi-Zerega. Her parents were Pompeo Maresi and Giovanna Ughetta - and I was always told her family was in the catering business in New York. She married Frank Zerega, the second son of Antoine and Mary Louise Bollinger-Zerega. Antoine founded A.Zerega Sons Macaroni in Brooklyn, NY in 1848. (You can see his picture on "Antoine's Pasta" packages). My mother was named Colomba (after here godmother) and she, too, ended up marrying someone named Frank! I would love to find a photo of the Maresi/Ughetta clan.

Hello,

I am the great granddaughter of Catharine Ughetta and we have some information on the Maresi and Zeraga families.
Have you talked/emailed with my cousin Mary Ughetta??

Send me an email and we'll be happy to share!

Nancy

I am the great grand daughter of Giovanna Ughetta and Pompeo Margherita Maresi. My great grandmother Giovanna Ughetta died in 1927 in Villa or Castello Ronconi, the house I grew up in on Lake Como. Colomba Maresi did indeed marry Frank, I met him and his sister Marina Zerega in their apartment in New York. Uncle Frank however was not in the pasta business, he was involved with the Bollinger wine company. I am in possession of a parchment family tree of the Ughetta family dating back to Francesco Ughetta 1600.
If you would like more information you may e mail me.

What a great surprise to find your info! There were 3 Zerega brothers - Frank, John and Fred (my grandfather). And several sisters - Josephine, Mira (Marina?) Elise, Inez, Celestine, and Christina. Marie Louise BOLLINGER was their mother (from Alsace Loraine). This is the first reference I have ever heard, to a relationship to the Bollinger winery. I would be delighted to see anything you are willing to share with me, Thanks for your gracious offer - I look forward to hearing from you.
