Hi Norma and Ugartes around the world!
I am one member of our great family! My great-grandfather was Miguel Angel Ugarte (The Famous Doctor in Honduras) and my uncle Rafael Ugarte, the first photographer in Honduras. Actually, the award for the best photographer of the year in Honduras was named after my uncle Rafael Ugarte. I would love to hear from the Ugartes in Honduras as well as their history and of those who are around the world as well. Thank you for having done this link to our great family. Saludos!

Atentamente.

Hello, My name is Michelle I am the grandaughter of Rosalia Ugarte (Mexico, parents from Spain) her mother was Guadalupe De La Pena and her father was Ramon Ugarte. From what I gather the Ugarte's at the time were one of the wealthiest prominent families in Mexico. My grandma Rosalia's uncle started the Bank Of Mexico, his name was Juan Francisco Ugarte. Some other names that my grandmother gave to me was Anna Ugarte, Carmen Ugarte and Luis Ugarte. She told me that her family did not want to leave Mexico but they had to. Her immediate family had to leave Mexico in the still of the night in fear for their lives due to political uprising in Mexico at the time. Some of our family members went to Peru where you can find still there. Others went back. My grandmother told me that her Ugarte family is originally from Spain that migrated to Mexico and Peru, which to date some are still in these places. My uncle was an Ambassador to either Peru or Chile' I am unsure of which one. My grandmother has a brother named Manuel Ugarte, a sister named Lupe, a sister named Concha, a brother named Gabriel, and a brother named Henry (Hank), if these are the Ugarte's that you are looking for please contact me at michelle_renaefg@msn.com
