Ugarte relatives from Basque country
Looking for my grandfather's family from Guipuzcoa, or Anguiozar Spain. Hildo Ugarte is my grandfather's name, he was born on 12 Apr 1903 to Antonio Ugarte and Josefa Ansautegui. Hildo had several siblings, the ones that are known by name but not whereabouts are, Cecilia (a nun somewhere in Spain), Feliciana and two brothers(names not known that went to Cuba and or Argentina. Hildo came to California, USA in 1932. Would appreciate any information regarding him or his family.

Re: Ugarte relatives from Basque country
Wow! My great-grandmother was Cecilia Ugarte, she was not a nun in Spain, but one of her brothers was a priest there. Her parents were Antonio and Josepha, and my mom has pictures of them in our house! What a coincidence! She married Tomas Uriarte and they lived in Stockton. She passed away in the early 1980s in Stockton.

Re: Ugarte relatives from Basque country
Tomas Uriarte was one of I think 10 siblings. One of the younger brothers named Pastor settled in Fresno, CA. He died 3 Dec. 1963 and is grandfather to Dione Uriarte Petersen. I am helping her try to located her family, and it sounds like you qualify.

Incredible--I remember my mom telling me about her "Tio Pastor." We're from Stockton, and it sounds like I have relatives I didn't know about in Fresno! You found the right Uriartes!

Hi there! I'm Amy, Joni and Ruben's daughter. It is so funny, I was just thinking about your dad (George) recently, my mom used to talk about him a lot, she really loved her uncle. How are you? It will be great to get in touch! Amy
