HERBERT UFFER pased away July 11, 2004 at the age of 75. Herb was born in New York April 7, 1929 and lived in San Bernardino since the early 1940s. After serving in the Navy, he worked in sales for his entire life. Herb was honored by Selig Chemical Industries as a member of the "Millionaire's Club" and inducted into its "Hall of Fame." Affectionately known as "Herbie", he was known for his sense of humor, his integrity, a willingness to help others, and most of all his love for family. He leves behind his wife Rena of 58 years; two sons, Mark and wife Carol, Robin and wife Karen, and the pride of his life, his grandchildren, Amanda, Kimberly, Daniel and Sara. He leaves one brother Irving and a sister Helen Davis of Highland. HIs life of community service touched many through Masonry as a Past Master of Damascus Lodge #648, San Bernardino Shrine Club, Scottish Rite, and DeMolay. He was a Past President of B'nai Brith. Herb served as the President of the San Bernardino Chapter of the City of Hope and in recent years dedicated himself to serving the Highland Senior Center and was a past "Volunteer of the Year." He presided over the Bingo Program and as a driver to assist seniors with transportation needs. The word "no" was not in his vocabulary.

His greatest accomplishment was passing on the lessons of how to be a father and the value of family.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2004 at Congregation Emanu El, 3512 North E. Street in San Bernardino. Interment will follow at Montecito Memorial Park in Loma Linda. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
