I am searching for the parents of Mary Harriett Uebele born Nov 1873 in Pennsylvania (according to the 1900 census). She married in 1895 to William Penn Rightley (son of John L. and Almira Sutton Rightley). The had three children, only 1 lived beyong infancy.
She was Mary Harriett Rightley b. 1899 in Philadelphia. She moved to Camden county, NJ around 1910 to live with her uncle Charles Harris. She married in 1922 to Paul Soffe.
I have been told that Mary Uebele's mother spoke only German, but the census says her parents both were born in Pennsylvania. When Mary Uebele died in 1905, William remarried to Amanda J. Rightley (poss a cousin). This is when Mary Rightley was sent to live with her uncle.
I have been told that she was sent to live with her grandparents and uncle Chares Harris. They were a methodist family and wanted to get Mary Rightley away from her German, Catholic Uebele relatives.
Nana (Mary Rightley) would not speak of her family. Mainly because she didn't know much other than that she was named after her mother.
I would appreciate any help on finding Mary H. Uebele's parents.
