I'm sorry, Donna; doesn't look like your grandparents are related to my branch. Did find out that Charles and Christian came from Thuringia in central Germany. There were some messages on the Germany board for Uebelackers--posted in August I believe. Good luck

I am currently helping my neighbor put her family together on paper. Her father is one of the children of Mary and Henry. Marie is still living in Scarsdale, NY. She is 94. We need to find out what links you have beyond Henry. Thanks-Ann

We have figured out that you are Eleanor Kossmanns cousin. She too is looking for information on the Uebelackers. Christian came in 1854 as an immigrant. Aunt Marie is going to remind Eleanor of the siblings she can't remember. Hope you can get in touch and share any info that you have. Eleanor would like to get in touch with you if that is possible. We have that Christian Eubelacker came to America in 1854 to New York City where he lived with his son. It could possibly be the same one you write about. I forwarded the message to a relative and hope to get a reply for you. Ann

Michelle: My wife is a Uebelacker. Her father is named John Frank Uebelacker. Her grandfather was John Uebelacker. Her great-grandfather was John Uebelacker and even her great-great grandfather was John Uebelacker. This last John listed was probably born around 1830 in Germany. Do you have any information on Uebelacker's in Rochester, NEW YORK? Thanks, Tony Lo Cigno e-mail: theswan@familyconnect.com

Sorry Michelle, don't think we are related. Since the beginning of 2001 I have done some additional research. Here is what I have: Brothers Christian and Charles Uebelacker came to U. S. mid 1850's with siblings Julia, Oscar and Charles. I have Christian's original U. S. Naturalization paper dated in 1873. He is my great grand father. He was married to Augusta Bechler and they had the following children: Henry b June 10, 1867, Oscar, Charles and Julia. Henry (my grandfather) married Mary Brown in 1891 and they had thirteen children: Christian J. b Dec 11, 1891; Augusta deceased in infancy (found her gravestone at Old St. Raymond's Cemetery in NYNY) Matthew b June 2, 1895; Marguerite b March 10, 1897; Henry b 1899 d 192?, Oscar (aka Ussie) b 1901, Marie born Feb 24, 1907, Catherine b. November 30, 1909, Julia b May 28, 1912 (my mother), Dorothy b Feb. 9, 1914, a set of twins and another child all three which did not survive infancy.
Christian and Charles received copies of a will from Erfurt Germany when their brother August Uebelacker, a master clinker died. In the will the following siblings of Christian and Charles are noted: Johanne EBERHARDT of Angstedt; Friedricke MOELLER of Angstedt; Christina HANSTER (HAENSTER or HAEUSTER) of Naschhausen; Henriette VOIGHT of Angstedt. Also listed is a Ferdinand UEBELACKER of Angstedt a stone mason who is the son of another brother (name unknown) that pre-deceased August.
Erfurt is a city in the state of Thuringia.
The 1920 Census Vol. 390 ED 26 Sheet 10 Line 76 does list the family but under the name UBERLACKER residing at 290 Hall Ave Tuckahoe, NY.
Hope this helps any and all researching the family. If you have additional information; please please please let me know. Thanks
