OBITUARY
Oxford, Nebraska, Standard: Mrs Clara J UEBEL was born in Birmingham, England, December 27, 1869, and died in Oxford, Nebraska, February 12, 1913.
Clara J MONTGOMERY was one of four children of Samuel and Jane MONTGOMERY who came to this country in 1886. Clara with a brother and sister preceded their parents to this country by one year. The family first settled in Fairmont, Nebraska, where they resided for twelve years. In 1897, Clara came to harlan county, near Oxford to live with a sister. Here she made the acquaintance of Geo. G UEBEL to who she was married on November 24, 1897. Their home has always been in or near Oxford, where they have a large circle of friends.
Mrs UEBEL is survived by her husband, Geo. G UEBEL, also two sisters, Mrs John HOWELL, of Welldona, Colorado, and Mrs Sarah CHAMBERLAIN, of Fairmont, Nebraska, and a brother, Samuel MONTGOMERY of Greenleaf, Kansas. These all visited her during her late sickness and diid all that loving hands could do to make her last hours peaceful.
Mrs UEBEL was early baptised into the Episcopal church of England where her name still remains. She was a woman of modest retiring disposition, sympathetic, helpful as a neighbor and loved by all who knew her. Her faith was clear and definite to the last and her end was peaceful as her life had been
The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church, Friday, February 14, 1913, conducted by the pastor, Dr E K BAILEY and laid to rest in the Oxford cemetery.
