My father was born in Iowa Falls, Iowa, and his father was John Conrad Ubben born Sep 17, 1906 in Ackley, Iowa. My father has researched this line pretty far back to my gggggrandfather who was Nittert Hagen Ubben. All we know is he was born in 1772 and Died June 24, 1844 in Rysum, Hannover, Germany. His son eildert Seeden Ubben was born May 15 1826 in Rysum, Hannover, Germany and died Aug 25, 1880 in Alden, IA. I can continue, but if anyone thinks there might be a link to this branch of Ubben's please respond.

Unfortunately, I do not have any information regarding Peter K Ubben except for the names of his sibblings and a few dates. I do however have information about his parents, and about two generations back on the Ubben line, if you seek this information. The family line goes back to Rysum in Hanover, Germany.

Thank you for your response. One of my wife's cousins has confirmed that John Herlyn Ubben was descended from Nittert Hagen Ubben and Eildert Seeden Ubben. I am still looking for info on John Herlyn Ubben's siblings and descendants. Any help would be appreciated.

I am replying to an older post about the Johannes Herlyn & Eva Ybeltje UBBEN and their 10 children born in Ackley Iowa.
I have some copies of the birth and death pages of the German Bible they brought with them and was handed down to my Grandmother Grace Louise Limberg (dau. of Gay Geeske UBBEN). Same info as Christy has But if anyone wants copies please let me know here. They are in real pretty writing with the German names. I remember my Grandmother telling me the American names as we looked at it
Christy can I get the sources for the 2 generations back in Germany? We didn't have all that you have on that and it fills in 8 generations for me. Do you know burial places or obits for any? Thank you for your time!!

Hello! I have long sought for the connection to the Ubbens from Iowa and Illinois and know there has to be one. We are all related. Ubben is a very common name in Germany. If you are researching ancestors from Germany, take a look at the Don Ubben Website at http://www.access-one.com/duzbruder .... available in German at Google.de (Don Ubben Abstammung) Don Ubben’s 2nd greats are: Ubben, Meiners/Meinderts, Harmens, Lüken, Hömm, Schoon, Janssen, Willms, Koch, Hinrichs, Buhr, Bruns, Fockenga, Harms.... descendants of the same, as well as some pictures & biographies. Individuals marked with red dots are direct fore-fathers…. many clickables. For further generations or to exchange genealogical information e-mail me at Draufganger@access-one.com
