Susan, sorry, 1) i have no ubanks links 2) I have no eubank links for the names you listed 3) are you sure of the last name spelling? - I noticed in searching ancestry.com that there are several Ethel Eubank listings - if you aren't sure of spelling check both eubank, eubanks, and ewbank spellings

My father was Harry Locke a well-known
British actor born in London in 1912.
His mother';s maiden name was Augusta Ubank,
I think later changed to Ewbank. Some of her
kin invented the Ewbank carpet sweeper.
Any info please, I'd be very grateful. Edgar.

One of my ancestors (James UBANK) had a sister
Augusta, born about 1870.
The family lived in the Bristol area from the
1840s (I'm still here!)
I think she might not be your Augusta but, if
you're interested, let me know and I'll supply
more information.

Yes, my grandmother Augusta Ubank came from the Bedminster area of Bristol, so we might be related. Any idea of where the surname Ubank cmes from? Is it central european? Thanks for your message, Edgar Locke.
