Re: a tyzzer in california
I am trying to find out if Dr. Ernest Edward Tyzzer who lived in Wakefield,MA and my grandfather Frank Howard Tyzzer, born in Wenham, MA are first cousins. Was Josiah Tyzzer perhaps their father or grandfather?

Josiah is Frank's father and Ernest Edward and Frank were first cousins.

Re: a tyzzer in california
Your mother and I are first cousins. I cannot find Josiah Tyzzer living in Wenham, MA (where Frank was born accordng to my father's birth certificate nor can I find where E.E.Tyzzer was born. A good guess is Wakefield. There are descendants of his brother living in California. Now I am trying to find if Ellen Ireland was Josiah's wife. BTW your grandmother taught me how to swim. AM

Re: a tyzzer in california
According to info I have, Josiah was born in Cornwall, England on May 5, 1839. He was married to Ellen Rand Ireland who was born in 1837--perhaps in Chelsea, MA. Josiah was a blacksmith and wheelwright in Littleton, MA. Frank was born in Wenham also so they must have lived there for a time.

Re: a tyzzer in california
Hi, This is Howard Josiah Tyzzer III. (hi Aunt Arline!)
I was under the impression that Josiah was married in England and that his wife died before reaching the U.S. A Mary something or other. Then he remarried. Anybody else have that info?
Hope all is well in Tyzzerland

Re: a tyzzer in california
Hi all! I'm a medical scientist in the UK researching the life and work of Ernest Edward Tyzzer (1875-1965) of Wakefield, MA. and Harvard Medical School. If any Tyzzers out there can help me with any information at all, I'd really appreciate hearing from them. Thanks in anticipation! Ray Williams.

Re: a tyzzer in california
Hello--
My grandmother was a Tyzzer, and Ernest (Edward) Tyzzer was her uncle.
I wrote a post in reply to someone else about visiting my uncle in the early 1960s. There are no technical details, but simply my youthful observations. Curiously, our family tree shows him as being born in 1864...?
Good luck in your search.
