Hello Melissa. My maiden name was also Tyznik. My father's name was Henry Tyznik, my grandfather's name was Nicholas Tyznik and my greatgrandfather's name was Maxwell Tyznik (I believe). What can you share? I know they came from Ukrania or Poland during the war and landed in the Milwaukee area, my grandfather was a child at that time.

My wife descends from the Michael Tyznik line, who is a brother of Maksym (Max).

Has anyone ever found information regarding Michael and Maksym's parents back in Poland/Galicia?

Thanks,

Steve

My grandfather was Nicholas Tyznik, my father was Henry Tyznik. Nicholas was the son of Maksym, I believe. I have the copy of his immigration papers which states where he came from. Also a written paper from one of the relatives named Anna - about the church etc. in Lublin and how Maksym donated the land for the church to be built. Karmena MacGillis of Round Lake, Illinois is still alive, a granddaughter of Maksym and is in her 80s. She would know some more of this history.
