Looking for parents/descendants of Louis W Tysor. He appears in the 1910 Chatham Co NC census under "other townships", ED #13, married to my cousin Bertia Cook. The census says they are both 21, but I think that may be a year or 2 off the actual age of Bertia. Head of household is Lonnie A Cook, age 28; the father Levi has died but widowed mother Naomi and sister Emma, 21,are in the home. This is the first I have heard of Bertia's marriage, so am anxious to find descendants.

I have a book about the Tysors of Old Chatham, my ancestors on my mother's mother's side (Louise Tysor Shepherd). There are a few spelling errors in the book and Louis W. Tysor is listed in this book as Lewis Wesley "Tiny" Tysor. He is my ancestor. However, misspellings were common in public records back then, so I suppose we'd have to look at the tombstone to know for sure. I'm not sure I could find where his tombstone is, his death is listed as 1923 with no month or day.

It lists his birthday as 11/4/1889 which would make him 21 in 1910. It lists his marriage to Levie Alberta Cook, daughter of Levie Cook and Annie Naomi Jones. "Bertie"?

Lewis Wesley "Tiny" Tysor (according to this book) was the son of Joseph Carson Tysor (buried; Pleasant Hill Meth. Church - Son of Oren Alston Tysor & Annie Clifton)
and Mary Catherine McIntyre (buried with husband) who was the daughter of Archibald McIntyre & Catherine Jane Womble.

The book notes that the three youngest children (Lewis would have been the youngest of the 9 siblings-only 6 survived to adulthood) The 3 youngest of those 6 died with typhoid fever when all were grown men.

Over the years, I have gotten more info on these folks. They had 5 children who lived to marry and have families. I have Louis/Lewis Tysor's death as 11 Aug 1923 in Chatham Co, and buried at Pleasant Hill Methodist Cem. Bertie remarried (to James Arthur Poe) but was also buried at Pleasant Hill, in 1963.
