Hi Ed, I am researching the surname Tysoe for my husband's family tree. They are from Australia and come from a line of Tysoe's that I have been able to trace back to Charles Tiso married in Broughton Parish, Oxfordshire in 1746 and died in the same as an 84 year old in 1796. Do you have this line in your research? I would appreciate any pointers as to where he might have originated as I cannot find any earlier birth records in this parish or there abouts yet.
Thank you. Linda

Do you know any of your family history? Where in England are you? There appears to be different Tysoe groups in different counties. Ours are basically Oxfordshire. I have access to Oxfordshire parish records if it is any help. Our Charles immigrated to Australia c.1850. Would be pleased to hear from you.

Maxine,
In New Zealand, where I am from, if you obtain your own birth certificate, the name of both the mother and father, if known, are listed on the birth certificate. From there you can go backwards, to find the birth certificate of your father. Ask the authority where you get a birth certificate for your country, what actual information is listed. In NZ, the Mormon Church has excellent records and we donot have to pay to access them. It may be a good idea to find out if your have a Family Research Centre near where you live. Another idea may be to find out if you have a genealogy group in your area. They are very good to point you in the right direction. If you have your father's name that you can send I might be able to look for something.
