Looking for information related to my grandfather Alexander Tyska who lived in Hampton,NY. He passed away on July 9th,1930. He had a son,Benjamin who lived in Stamford,Ct. and I believe a daughter who lived in Detroit,Michigan. I would appreciate any info that can steer me in the right direction. I am still having problems with trying to get death certificate info from Albany,NY.

Hi Loretta, In response to your message, I don`t know if my grandfather had any brothers. I am still having difficulties in my research. I found an immigration ship that arrived in the USA in the early 1900s with a TYSKA aboard. I am waiting to hear from a transcriber who is trying to make out the names on the ships passengers. I will let you know if I get any info and if I make any other contacts. Stan

That sounds like my Grandfather Francis Tyska. According to the stories I've heard, my granfather arrived with 3 brothers. One was named Blaise I think. Blasie and my grandfather fought for the US in world war 1 so the timing would be right.

Hello, My great grandmother was Mary Tyska whose father was
Captain Heinrich Von Tyska. I have a document that tells about
Captain Von Tyska's involvement in a military battalion in Konisberg,
Prussia. Heinrich was born 4/29/1833 and died
8/16/1885. His daughter Mary immigrated to the US in 1867 at age one, and married my
great grandfather in approx. the same year Heinrich died- 1885. A Census report in 1900 showed
a Charles Tyska DOB 1872 Born in NY living with Mary and my greatgrandfather
as a boarder. I assume he was her brother but may have been a cousin or nephew. I would love to
learn more about the Tyska line as that is as far as I have gotten. I have no
other information on Mary, Charles or Heinrich and would love to learn more.
