I am loking for information regarding Willie Mae Tyrone. I believe she married a James Gurley (recorded as Ginneley) Aug. 12 1878 in Lawrence, MS. She later married Charles C. Myers on June 3 1883 in Lawrence. I am descended through the Myers line and would appreciate any information on this line of Tyrones in MS.

Occupation: Well educated school teacher when he arrived in America.
Married to: Nancy Lee in Ireland abt 1775
Immigrated to the USA in 1791 with his wife and four children: James [15], Stiles [11], John [6], and Charles [1]

I have a complete family history after arriving in the USA; however, no previous history from Ireland.

Christopher Grove Tyrone joined the union army in New Orleans were he remained until his death on 11/7/64. I have other family information also.

I am a descendent of Henry Tyrone and Elizabeth Walpole. My aunt has traced us back to them. At one point a family member had a family Bible which she copied years ago. Sadly we do not know who has the Bible now. I have more info but it is stored and I need to get to it. But I saw this posting and was so pleasantly surprised for someone looking for relatives and info on this couple. We are also. We have many family legends about Elizabeth that have been passed down. I am trying to locate the descendants of Jerome Tyrone and Martha Cole. They married in 1841 in Lawrence Co MS and had several children. The moved to Crawford Co Arkansas between the 1870 census and the 1880 census. I don't find them after the 1880 census, however, I find their son Julius in Crawford Co and their son Jacob in Indian Territory (Oklahoma) after that. I have been unable to find their or their children's death dates or places or grandchildren's birth/date dates and places.

I am looking for info on Elizabeth J Tyrone.She married John Robert Fowler 1-2-1873. They may have live in Jackson Parish,La. They had 11 children. I have info on the childeren. She lived her later years with her daughter Emma Fowler Briggs in Oak Grove,La. I think she died in the early 50's. She was my great grandmother,I have a picture.

I am searching for information on an ADAM TYRONE, JR. He married FRANCES PARKMAN and they had 9 children. One of these children was a son named ADAM TYRONE, III born near BLOUNTVILLE, MS. and later moved to CATAHOULA PARISH, LA. His wife's name was SARAH. I am also searching for an ADAM TYRONE who married a MOLLIE THIGPEN. I would appreciate any information on these Tyrones. ADAM TYRONE, JR.'S oldest son, WILLIAM T. TYRONE, died in 1895 in PRENTISS, MS. Is it possible that were are looking for the same people?

I have just found out that Henry TYRONE was born March 26, 1798 and died in Arkansas Dec 11, 1888. I was told he is buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Jonesboro, Craighead Cty,AR.
My husband is a descendant of his daughter Francis Jane married to David PICKLE.

I know less about the family of Adama Tyrone Jr.; however, privately, I would be happy to share the bit I have. Seems you know more about this family thn I so I would appreciate your sharing what you know. then I coud bring Adam Jr., and Frances a little further along than I have been able to do to date.

I lost what was in my tyrone folder as wel as the names and addresses of the persons who were researching Adam, Jr. that's been a big set back for me.

She was b 26 May 1799, d 14 Nov 1862, and is bur in Wood-Crensham Cem, Monroe Co., MS. It is not known when Henry died or where he is buried. I have 3 children for Henry and Elizabeth: Mary C., Martha S., and Henry Irving Tyrone. If you are a descendant of this family, please contact me privately at . The Church met, after a sermon delivered by Brother Martin Nall.

Sister Frances Tyrone came forward by experience and was unanimously received.

such a committee do agree that the value of the work done on said Church by

Are you related to the Hicks that live In Columbis, MS? My grandmother lived on Mobley Street from 1950-1972 and there was a Hicks family that lived across the street.
Back to William, I go home frequently (Goss, MS) so I will add your William and see what I can find. I live in TN now.

Christopher Grove Tyrone the son of Adam Tyrone born in Ms 10-27-1826, died in Union Hosp in New Orleans 11-27-1864.He married Sarah Brown (born 4-11-1834;died 12-12-1882. They were married in Winn Parish,La 8-17-1854. They had four children; Elizabeth Josephine (married John Robert Fowler) 6-8-1855, died 10-10-1952; Julius N 6-23-1859---6-2-1863;Elam M 3-22-1861---7-3-1863; Francis L 5-10-1863---7-16-1864. Sarah and Josephine had a terrible life during and after the war. The carpet bagger took everything they owned and it is believed they burnt the house. I have several pages about their lives.Hope this information is useful. Carolyn

I received info about Tryrones from my great Uncle who knew about Adam Tyrone of Ms. My info is Adam Tryone had a son named Christopher Grove Tyrone born in Ms l0-27-1826,died in the Union Army Hosp.in New Orleans 11-7-1864. He married Sarah Brown brn 4-11-1854 died 12-1882. They had moved to Winn,La where they had 4 children: Elizabeth Josephine 6-8-1855 to 10-10-1952 ( my great grandmother)

To all Tyrone, Parkman, Boyd, Thurmond, and others who wish to corrospend with me about our amcestors in common, please contact me PRIVATELY. I'll need more information in an effort to attempt to identify Christopher Tyr9one.

As for tales about my great-grandmother after the civi War, there isn't much to tell. that was a subject that wasn't discussed when I was around...would problably have been too young to have understood had I have been told directly or even overheard adult conversation. That was a subject that wasn't discussed in my faiimly period. 'm sure they suffered like the other people of that era; however, they managed to survie, and to make their own places n the world. Apparently, my grandmother was the first of the 12 to marry as managed to not only be the first grandchild on the paternal side, but aso the first great-grandchild (maternally on the paternal side) but it wasn't by much. My other grandfather died before my sister was born so I was the midde chld of t....all boys on either side of me. I suspect if any of them remember those few years we had with thim that they still resent me to a degree. My grandfather was good to all his granchldren but he had only one gradddaughter and she was the apple of his eye. <G>

I have a book of the decsendants of Henry TYRONE, brother to John and Tyrone, Jr. Much more for John than for Adam, Jr. Seems that when he left for Winn Parish, with some tops aong the way, he chose not to leave a paper trail that could be easily followed.

I've spent a litte ove 4.45 hrs working on a chore I've been postponing for ages. Sadly, even this portion has not been completed much less to get an inventory of the items. That's divertiring from a lot of research but I do try to make time to answer all queries. Hopefully, it won't take me forever to get back to benealogy more or less full time. I'm trying to downsize and that's a job that I hab;t considered to be so time consujing Could use a lot of GOOD help. when I get to the office and my genealogy you may hear me crying in the night. Each time I ask for help I'm told that I'm the only one who can do it. Might be true.but it's a mighty big bit to 8ite off and try to chew.

I am not sure about Christopher's ancestors, I will look and see if I have anything. Do want me send their story on the message board or do you want to send me your email address. It is several pages. I have been working on my Daddy's family for 2 years and I still get information...It is hard finding ancestors from 1920 to present time.
