Unusual message on this board. However, note someone of this name in directory in Wishaw.

if you can get his birth cert, it should have his parents full names on it as well as their date of marriage.

You may have information by now from other sources.
My mother was a Tyrie and has just had her 100th birthday. She came from a large family. One of her older brothers was a Dempster Tyrie (named after her father). Dempster her brother went to Maidstone Kent as a miner. We understand he injured his spine in a mine accident and then became a shop keeper but a little vague on the latter. Mum was certain there were two girls Ester and Mary and a boy Dempster (presumably your father) There may have been more and we would be interested to know.
Mum's brother Dem was a twin to Jim who died as an infant from measles. They were slightly older than my mother so the date fits.
I can just vaguely remember visiting them once many years ago as we at that stage lived in Surrey.
Could give you more info and put you in touch with others if interested

Hi I am catching on a few years after the initial Thread, I am Michael Tyrie Grandson to Dempster and Esther, My Grandparents did move to Aylesham between Canterbury and Dover and did work down the (now closed) Snowdon colliery where he did break his back. 4 of the 5 sons and daughters are still alive and will no doubt have much more information, if your still searching please contact me on my mail address.
