I appear to be a descedant of Thomas Tyrer and mary Anne Rigby and thet would heve been my GG grandparents. My GGG grandfather then would have been Richard Tyrer of whom you posted info.

Do you have any information on Tyrer, Rigby and Co?

Best wishes

John

My earlier reply had an error. It should have said that Thomas Tyrer (b 1794) had a father called Richard, possibly.

The Richard you mentioned as a child of Thomas was my grandfather's uncle.

I have just started with researching my husbands family. My Huband's Grandfather was born 1877 Bartholomew Tyrer born in Hodge's Mount, England and his father our records show was Thomas Savage Tyrer born about 1844 in Liverpool, I was wondering if you have any other info on the Thomas Tyrer. This one married Margaret Ann Heyes.

Bartholomew came to America in 1905. I can't seem to find much at all on the Tyrer family.

My GG Grandfather was Maximilian Tyrer who, according to family legend, was related to the Thomas Tyrer of the firm Tyrer and Glover. As far as I know this Thomas had been with Thomas Rigby earlier. I am searching for the link that proves that there was some relationship. I know that Thomas, Maximilian's son, was in touch with relatives in Liverpool or thereabouts in the early 1880s. I wondered if you had any info or stories even about realatives in Skipton in Yorkshire.

Best wishes
Andy

I have another Tyrer/Rigby marriage, that of James Rigby who married Alice Tyrer, daughter of Richard Tyrer and Ellen Parr. Does anyone know if there is a connection between them?

I am looking for the Tyrer family where Christiana Tyrer married David Tyrer late 1700s early 1800s who died 16th January 1824 aged 49
I believe a son or grandson was a Liverpool lawyer
One of yours?
David

My dad is Kenneth Tyrer and he has the same ancestry as yourself. His GG grandfather was Maximilian Tyrer his GG Thomas Tyrer and grandfather Joseph Tyrer had Tom, George, Fred, Joseph and Ruth Tyrer. As far as he is aware his great uncle - uncle Fred - traced the origin of the family from the hugenots who were religious refugees. Uncle Fred Tyrer won the military cross in WW1 for capturing a German outpost single handed.
