I am trying to find info on the family of Tyerman/Tyremans that apparently came to Canada in the late 1840's. From one source, I am told they came on masse but I am not certain of this info. Joseph Tyerman supposedly died en route to Canada. He was born approx. 1793 and was married to Elizabeth Thompson. His nephew Thomas Henry (son of Joseph's brother David) was living with them after David's death. Thomas was supposedly about 7 years old when his father David died.) Elizabeth, nephew Thomas Henry, and their children (so I am told) Hyman (1816), Hannah(1819), Jonathan(1820), Andrew(1822), Maria(1825), Josiah(1838), Aaron(1840) all came immigrated. (I am also told that they had 4 children die in Oct 1835 within days of each other?? what cause???)My grandfather was Harold Elwin Tyerman (born in 1907 in Manitoba)son of Harold Franklin Raphel Tyerman and Annie Victoria Holt. Harold Franklin Raphel Tyerman (born in 1879) was the son of Aaron Tyerman (born in England about 1840) and Margaret Stephenson (born about 1878). Please note that both the Tyerman and Tyreman spellings are used in my family (even between siblings).

My gr-gr-grandfather was Hyman Tyreman. His daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Miller (my gr-grandfather in 1862. Marriage register shows brides parents as Hyman and Ann. The witness was Aaron Tyreman. That is all I know about Tyremans, but would like to learn more. Did someone on this site mention they had a full genealogy a couple of weeks ago?

My grandmother's maiden name was Tyerman, she was born in or near Lincoln. First names Ethel Elizabeth.
She married a Steven Evans from Derbyshire.
She had a sister Florrie (presume Florence), brother Frederick who was connected strongly with the church and Lincoln Cathedral, brother William killed in WW1, sister May .... and numerous others as there were I think 11 in her family.
My father "hinted" that there may be a Jewish connection in the family but I cannot find any trace of this.
Would like to hear if this is the same branch of the Tyerman's as my grandmother was very secretive.
