I am doing research on the Wilson family, from the area around Aberdeen, Scotland. My direct ancestor is Alexander (Alexandre) Wilson, who was baptized in Cairnie by Huntly on March 8, 1758. He emigrated to Canada, and was married in Montreal in 1784.
I have records that indicate that his parents were Alexander Wilson and Elizabeth Tyrie, married May 31 1751. Some of the records identify Skeen as their place of residence, but the baptism and marriage records are from the parish of Cairnie.
The other children of Alexander (the elder) and Elizabeth Tyrie are: Adam (March 8 1752); John (March 13, 1754); Mary (March 12, 1760); Thomas (March 7, 1765); William (March 25, 1768); Elizabeth (April 18, 1771). All the dates noted are baptism dates.
Thomas either accompanied his brother, or joined him in Montreal before 1793, when he married in Montreal.
Any information on either the Wilson or Tyrie families would be appreciated.
