This Indenture made this Twentieth day of July one thousand Seven
hundred & eighty two between Abraham Mitchel of the County of Granville
and State of North Carolina of the one part & Jemima Mitchel & Mary
Ann Mitchel of the other part Witnesseth that the said Abraham Mitchel
for divers good causes & Considerations to him Specially moving and
more particularly for the love and affection he owes his two children
Jemima Mitchel & Mary Ann Mitchel above mentioned as well as the
Consideration of eight Shillings to him in hand paid the receipt of which
he doth hereby acknowledge hath given Covenanted bargained & Sold
and doth by these presents give Covenant bargain & Sell unto the said
Jemima Mitchel one Negro boy named Isham to her & her assigns
forever as also I doth give Covenant bargain and Sell unto
Mary Ann Mitchel one Negro girl named Anaca to her & her
assigns forever, and in case either of the said children die before Marriage
that the Survivor shall take both Negroes to them or either of them their heirs
and assigns forever, & the said abraham Mitchel doth by these presents
warrant & defend the said two Negroes, Isham & Anaca to Jemima Mitchel
and Mary Ann Mitchel to them their heirs & assigns forever from all claim
of him the said Mitchel or any person claiming under him. In Witness
whereof the said Abraham Mitchel hath set his hand and affix'd his
Seal the day & Year first above written.
