Tyndale Ancestry

Penny Tyndale was right-I have copied a message I sent to the Tindal surname community (merely a different spelling but the same family.
I am the family archivist for the Tindal-Carill-Worley family in England and Ireland.
(My mother is Jacqueline Hoar nee Tindal-Carill-Worsley.) My grandfather, Group
Captain Niclas Tindal-Carill-Worsley, RAF (Retd), is the heir mail of Baron Adam
de Tyndale, a tenant in chief of King Henry I (1100-1135) of England and
Normandy. He was feudal baron of Lagley, county Northumberland, and details of
these early Tyndales (the earlier spelling and that of some branches of the family
today) can be found in 'Northumberland Families'. Baron de Tyndale was probably
the ancester of the great majority of Tindals, Tindales, Tyndalls, Tyndales and
Tindles throughout the world-our patriarch. (There was, however, an unrelated
family of Tyndales who were landowners of parts of Northumberland in the 14th
century.) I have drawn up a detailed genealogy of my family detailing our descent
from baron de Tyndale to the present. It may be of interest to many of you and I
am interested to establish our relationship with
different branches. If any Australian Tindals descended from Charles Grant Tindal
of Ramorlie, NSW (c1850-1910) are reading this he was the nephew of my great
great great great grandfather Thomas Tindal of Aylesbury Manor (c 1780-1830),
who was the brother of Lord Chief Justice Sir Nicolas Tindal (c1770-1845). I
intend to transfer this family tree to an internet compatable transcript and I will be
happpy to contact anyone with details in the mean time by e-mail. It may be of
some interest that Sir John Tyndale of Mapplested Magna, Essex, and Hockwald
Manor, Norfolk (my lineal ancester) was the co-heir to the barony of Scales and
the Earldom of Suffolk. He also had a strong claim to the Kindgdom of Bohemia
through an ancester who had married the daughter of Princess Margeret of
Treschen (modern Silesia), daughter of Princess Elizabeth of Bohemia and
Luxemburg and niece of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. Sir John's grandfather,
Sir Robert de Tyndale KB, had been offered the Bohemian throne by a deputation
of Bohemean nobles but had declined due to his love for England. I am especially
interested to know if his elder son Deane Tyndale has any living descendants. His
last recorded heir general was the wife of Charles King in the 18th century. If any
descendents remain, they would be legally entitled to claim the Barony of Scales,
although that sadly has no remaining entitlement to a seat in the UK Parliament
since the reform of the House of Lords in 1999. If they do not, the heir general is
my kinswoman Abigail Bosanquet, a descendent of Lord Chief Justice Tindal, the
daughter of the well known British ITN newscaster Reginald Bosanquet.
I will be very happy to be of assistance to any of my kinsmen of kinswomen after I
finish my Law finals on 14th June.

Three young Buchan gentleman came out from England and Mexico to work on Charles Tindal's property at Ramournie, a property not far from where I grew up. One of these men was my g.grandfather STEPHEN BUCHAN who later owned Nymboida station. The other two ROBERT BUCHAN AND DAVID STEPHEN BUCHAN both drowned whilst working for him crossing a flooded river, but 5 years apart. I have often wondered how they came to Ramournie and now I have discovered that JOHN HITCHCOCK BUCHAN was in silver mines operation with TINDAL. could you find out more about this connection either from the Australian Tindals or the connection in navy or back in England. John Hancock Buchan made a fortune out of silver, his father was CAPTAIN DAVID BUCHAN of 1818 Artic Voyage and important in Newfoundland history. I would appreciate any info on their connection. The paper clipping after Robert's drowning 1860's says they were close relatives of Tindals.?????

My husband's grandfather Tindal Pearson Porter was the C.E.O. at the Australian Meat company at Ramornie in N.S.W. He worked there from about 1888 to early 1900. Five of his children were born there. I am sure that there must be some relationship to the Tindals as the name is prominantly used as a second name in their family as far back with Robert Tindal Porter born in 1805 and used by my husband today.(Wilfred Tindal Porter) and others
Acton Tindal was a sponser at the Christening of Robert Tindal Porter's first daughter Anne Tindal Porter baptised on the 20th September 1841 in Madras. I am supposing it was Acton Tindal christened on the 11 September 1811 at Alesbury in England. Do you have any Porters connected with your family from 1700 to 1800 or any information about this connection.

Charles Tyndal ran Ramournie Station in NSW. My g.g.grandfather made a loan to assist him if he trained Robert Buchan and Stephen Buchan , sons of John Hitchcock Buchan from silver/gold mines of Mexico. Charles father was manager of Real del Monte mines.
Would you have any letters written from Mexico please.

Thanks for the message - really interesting.

I don't know much about the Australian Tindals (which is definitely the spelling - eg Wing Cmdr Archie Tindal, after whom Tindal RAAF Air Station was named, who was the grandson, I think, of Charles Tindal) other than what I've found out via the internet. I'm not in touch with any of my distant cousins, though not for want of trying, and I'm not aware of any documents we have about them. Do you have any letters? I'd be really interested if so.

I am looking into the family tree. I believe I am descended from Richard Tindall 1639-1693 whom married Elizabeth Vicery 1639-1693. He was born in England and died in New Jersey. I believe his father is John Tindal 1638 born in Devon, England and died in Beerferry, Devon, England in 1673 and his mother is Anne Hals. I am looking for more information. I am trying to find out how the family line are Irish nationality. By looking at my father you can see the Irish without a doubt. Red eyes and fair skin with plenty of freckles.

Hi
I just stumbled onto this site and find it quite interesting. Firstly Charles Tindal owned Ramornie not managed and his name was spelled Tindal. No y or e Our family tree shows a connection with South America after the Spanish wars. My father passed away at 96 and was Charles Sholto son of Charles Henry. The eldest son of the eldest son was always named Charles. I would be most interested to read your of your connections
