Do you happen to have any information on a female Tilden marriage to John Musgrove in Maryland? My g-g-g-grandfather is John Tilden Musgrove, their eldest child born in 1793 in Maryland.

Hi -- I have a Will written by Thomas B. Tylden but can't connect it to the Trotter/Shuster families I am researching. In the Will, it references a late wife of Catherine W. Tylden. He directs that his body be placed in Laurel Hill Cemetery in the City of Philadelphia. Is this the person you were researching? A cursory view of the Will reveals no children but he was very fond of his nieces/nephews -- children of his deceased sister.

Yes, Catharine Wing Tylden was sister to Rebecca Wing Hart, daughter of Jacob Wing. They didn't have any children. I have a book on Maryland's Eastern Shore Families that lists the Tylden family history. If you would like the citation I would be happy to look it up and send you the citation.

Thanks for the info. I would appreciate the name of the book, as well as the author -- and any information on how I can get a copy of it. My father-in-law did a lot of research back in the 1960s and pulled a lot of it together before he passed away in 1979. It has been in a box ever since. It is a treasure chest of information -- he kept everything and has letters from lots of the "old-timers" giving him family information. We also have a ton of family pictures with most being identified. I am organizing it but haven't had any time to sink my teeth into any of it -- but I'm sure someone is looking for a lot of it.

Does he identify his sister and nieces/nephews in the will?

Yes, he lists the names of the nieces/nephews, and then adds a paragraph of who their parent was (e.g., "my sister, Matilda's children", or something like that). I have 2 full legal-sized pages of a handwritten Will, which is in a delicate condition. I don't have the signature page (may have it in a box but haven't located it) -- but what I do have is a treasure trove of information for this family. I will have photocopies of this Will made tomorrow so that I can scan it into my computer and am happy to share it. Pls email me at patztrotter@gmail.com and we can go from there.
