Have Tygett family history back to 1803. Last known info is on Hugh Taggert or Tygett. IF anyone knows any Tygett's or any info related would love to hear from you and share what I know. Thank you.

Elizabeth- I am not sure if there is a relation in our families but mine were from the same general area so looks good. I will call my mother tonight and see if she has any info on these people. Do you have any other info on the people-who their parents were? Were these 2 married or siblings? How old were they when they died? If you like you may email me if you want at TJBSCB96@aol.com. I will let you know what I find out. Feel free to e mail me at any time. Were either of these people your parents? If you give me a little more to go on that would help. I have a lot of history on Tygett's but not a lot of the recent stuff, my mom has that. Talk to you soon. Traci Tygett Bottom

I have an issue of "The Saga of Southern Illinois" This is a picture history of Southern Illinois. It was given to me by a geniologist as a gift. It has a very cool picture of the tygett brothers in the early 1800s, tom, john, hugh and james. They all have long white beards, and look like Santa claus! Also have an army document from the war of 1812 pertaining to hugh fighting in place of another man. This was common practice back in those days. If you were called apon to go to war, and could aford it, you could pay somone to go in your place. To bad Clinton didnt have this option! My name is Matt Tygett, and i live in Cape Girardeau MO. if any Tygetts want a copy of my material please email me at m.tygett@lycos.com I will scan the pictures, and send you info. Tygetts rule!

Matthew,

I would love a picture from your book, thank you very much. The other reply under your message was meant from Traci. We are probably are all related somehow. Was one of the men in your picture related to you? Which one? I'm trying to prove/disprove the fact that I am related to Hugh Jr.'s, sister, Margarette (b. 1818) who married Stephen Young, my gg grandfather. They were in and around Randolph, Jackson and St. Clair Counties in Ill. What is your background?
