Bob, I'm looking for Tygart's in Ohio. My grandmother was suspected to be born in Mineral, Kansas. I understand that a cyclone came through and wipped Mineral off of the map, and any history of her birth there. I have searched the vital records and have drawn a blank. Her birthday was in July 1907.
Her death was January 3 1979. She married Edward MIlls Date???.Please any help???

William, my Ohio Tygarts came from Darke Co. on the Indiana state line. In about 1825 they moved across the state line to Randolph Co., and Henry Co., and then some into the adjacent Hancock Co..
From there to Iowa, western Indiana, and the Chicago area of Illinois. My direct line came from Terre Haute, Indiana, and I have not tracked anybody else into the 20th. Century, but I'm working on it. If I had your e-mail, I would keep you in mind, but it might be some time
Bob.

I just went to Columbus KS, and looked up Tygarts in their genealgy library. I know the Tygarts came from Kentucky to the Mineral Columbus area to work in the mines there. They have them in the 1910 census there and My Grandfather who is Vincent Earl Tygart was 15 then and worked on the railroad building bridges. Just thought I could add some info for you. I have names of siblings too

Vicki, Although Bob And yourself seem to have info that might help, my understanding is this: Rebecca Tygart's Father would have been Vincent Earlston Tygart m g-grandfather.
My grandmother (Rebecca) sister has quite an array of info but we loose it before Vincent.
