The Blackfoot on my Tygart Family side was My grandmother Earcel Stevens Tygart~ She was full Blackfoot, My grandfather married her off the Indian Territory when she was 14 years old. I know My father was half Blackfoot Indian and married an Irish Tygart.

Surnames: Tygart
Sir, I should know my own surname and where it comes from, My father said that it was spelled McTygart not MacTygart , I also have done extensive searches and my father should know because we are Tygart people. Others may have spelled with the Mac and Mclin, etc. but My Name was McTygart before the Mc was dropped off. and it has many spellings back when the census takers were drunkards. All Tygart linage are from the same bloodline. All Tygart's would not have just stayed in these areas we all migrated everywhere! Not a common name whatsoever like yours, but I have heard stories of what My name is Sir, Thank you.Not Scottish, It is Irish
