Tyers one-name study

Hello everyone

I am the registered holder of the Tyers one-name study with the Guild of One Name Studies. I hold a wealth of information on the Tyers names and I also have all the English Birth/Death/Marriage references for the Tyers name from 1837 to 2002, together with most of the census references from 1871-1901.

I am more than willing to share whatever information I already hold in regard to your Tyers line(s).

You can check out the Guild of One Name Studies here: http://www.one-name.org
and I also have my own one name study website here: http://www.onenamestudy.org.uk/karen.tyers

My research so far is mainly based in the UK but I am now spreading out to include other parts of the world. If you are a Tyers or are researching the name I would love to hear from you.

Kind regards
Karen Tyers

Hi Karen - would love to find out the surname of my Great Grandmother Elizabeth Unknown born in Wing about 1831 and married to my Gt Grandfather John Tyers of Uppingham. Very impressed with the family tree you have prepared.

My mother-in-law is from the Tyers family...but she has very little information for me to go on for searching. This is what I have...My MIL's mom was named Mary Tyers, but frequently went by Madge. She was born roughly in 1903 in England. She died in roughly 1979. She had her children in Leicester, and her husband's name was Earnest Roland Forman. Mary's father's name was Samuel, who died we think in the 1940's, and she had two either step-siblings or half siblings, by the names of Arthur and Harriet. Not much to work with I know, but if you can find anything, I would be very grateful!

Hi Sharon

I have picked up your email and I will pull together what I can from my databases and get back to you in a couple of days.

The Tyers one-name web pages are down at the moment for revamping (there is a lot more information to be added now) but they should be back up in a few weeks at:
http://www.tyers.org.uk

Kind regards
Karen

Hi Karen,

I don`t know if I have contacted you before about a Rebekah Tyers who is in my Family Tree and who is proving difficult to trace.

Rebekah married William Priestley at St. Peters Church Nottingham on 6th. November 1766 and I believe she died in 1813.

Despite a lot of effort I have not been able to find out who Rebekah`s parents were and I would be grateful if you could assist.

Regards John Priestley

Hello John

I hae checked what information I have and can't help I'm afraid. However, due to family circumstances I have handed over the Tyers one-name study to another Guild member and she now retains all the databases - you can contact her at Tyers@one-name.org

I also picked up your message at Genforum but will not reply there.

Kind regards
Karen
