I have a William Tyers born 1828 in Rutledge England who married Sarah Ann Blades of Bulwick Northahmptonshire. William's father was Edward who was born in the 1800's in Harringworth Rutland. Unfortunately this is as far back as I have gone. I know William came to Australia aged 24 with his wife Sarah aged 18 on the Shakamaxon which landed in Port Adelaide South Australia 19/01/1853 from Liverpool and so the start of my Australian lineage of Tyres begins. If anyone has any further info or if I can help anyone please drop me a line Andy2002@bigpond.com
Thanks
Andrea

Hi Malcolm,

I am also A descendant of the Amherst/Talbot Tyers. I am currently tracking down the book which I believe was published early last year (April 2002). I will be contacting the Talbot Art and Historical Museum tomorrow in hope of finding the book. I will let you know how I go.

Kind Regards
Andrea
PS My father was also Malcolm but his surname was Paul as his mother Phyllis E Tyres married William Paul

I have info on William Tyers b:<1828> Rutlandshire and Sarah Ann Blades b:<1834> Bulwick, Northamptonshire and Descendants.
I have not been successful in obtaining family connections for Jonathan Tyers b:1702 d: 1767 who owned Vauxhall Gardens. He passed ownership of VG to his sons Thomas and Jonathan. Son Jonathan died 1792 and VG ownership passed on to Bryan Barrett who was married to Elizabeth Tyers. I would be hopeful if some kind person could provide a gedcom file with this history. I hope I can assist with what you are seeking.
