I have traced my TYERMAN family tree back to William TYERMAN, son of Christiana <unknown>, William was born abt 1823/5 in Bilsdale, Yorkshire, England.

William married Hannah BARKER abt March 1852 in Helmsley, Yorkshire and they had at least 14 children.

Let me know if you have any links.

thanks,

Kevin Bean.

Hi, wonder if you have a Thomas Tyerman that emigrated to the US. He may have married a Palmer from West Hartlepool.
In the US he was a saloonist. Most of Tyerman clan seems to be from the Yorkshire / Durham area so your group may be linked to mine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Anne Smith of the Smiths from West Hartlepool/Topcliffe/Fewston.

Anne,
I believe that there are 2 branches of TYERMANs/TYREMANs, one from Yorkshire and one from Lancashire, although they were probably connected before. However, I have not found any branches that moved to Hartlepool, Durham.

Do you know when your Thomas TYERMAN was born ?

Hi!

I have information about a Thomas Tyermann. The family information I have states:

"Margaret Fielding married Thomas Tyermann in England and came to Cleveland in early or middle 1870s. Had 3 or 4 children born in England but all died as very small children. Meggie was born in Cleveland and died in 1882 when she was six years and six months old. In the very early 1900s bought an orange grove in Winterhaven, Florida and lived there until her death in 1912 and is buried in Winterhaven..." The notes also describe "Uncle Tom Tyermann had a saloon on Wales Street."

If I'm not mistaken, I have photos of Tom Tyermann, as well as his marriage certificate. As far as the connection to a Palmer from West Hartlepool goes... Margaret Fielding's older sister, Mary Ann, married William Palmer (these are my 2x great Grandparents).

I would love to compare notes and to see how our families may be connected!

:)
