Aunt Hazel (Luce)Blackmon - daughter of John R. and second wife (candis Knox) - and mother's half sister - lived at Palestine - died this past year at Dallas where she had been living with her son. Sold the home in Palestine. My other Luce-Tyer cousins have moved from Crockett and Trinity to Houston - so I have no contacts except for Angela Graham - via e-mail - who is more of the Grounds family than Tyer. The reunions we had at Grapeland were Grounds - although there are Tyer relations.
do we have a TYER Board?? my e-mail janejohnson@grandecom.net

We Tyers are a nuclear family - scattered - and I am so sorry that we cannot see and talk in person. I am crying inside. I know how Mother felt the last days of her life. She was so tired of saying a final goodbye to members of her family. She told Hazel and me that she wanted to "leave here" before we did. I asked, "You want Hazel and me to be the last ones?" And she said, "YES. You can handle it better than I can." Well - I am the last one of we three. I have a Luce first cousin - maybe two - and one in San Antonio, some second cousins there and Houston and Dallas. I have my step-daughter 35 miles away - and her daughter.
I still drive - but have not done BIG CITY driving in three years. Renewed my license yesterdsy. All those 18-50 year-old youngsters(men and women!) waiting in line had a ball fixing my hair to make me pretty for my picture! Jane
