Hi, Yes I'm a Tydd .. Alan Christopher Tydd The Broxton Tydd's There was also Tydd in the field The Bickerton Tydd's Clutton Tydd's
First the Broxton Tydd's .. My father was Joseph Albert Tydd ..known as the "Tydd the rose grower" for prowess at gardening and wining show prizes. His father was from Burwardsley "Bosley" as it is known to locals ..as most of the Tydd's originated from. My great uncle ..could be another great in there .. was Alec Tydd .. I have his pocket watch ..who died in the 14-18 war ..
Then there was Tydd's in the field .. just because thier house was in a field at Broxton Old Hall Farm .. They have died out ..well the name has ..
Then there were the Bickerton Tydd's .. enter Gordon Tydd into Google .. and you will see him .. he is my cousin 3 times removed. There house was owned by Bolesworth estate, and from where it was, on the side of the hill overlooking Bickerton Church, you could see 5 counties or more ..
My family is buried in Brown Knowl graveyard .. Two graves ..
Burwardsley Tydd's .. Burwardsley Church yard .. There is a mention of them on a video :- "Islands on the Cheshire Plain"
Bickerton Tydd's .. Bickerton Church ..
My uncle who I haven't seen for ages lives in Malpas Cheshire .. Noel Tydd .. Doubt he has a Pc though.. He will be able to tell you more if you write to him.
Oh and there's the Clutton Tydd's ..who are mentioned on here .. Hope that helps .. Copyright ..breton.lion2006 Regards Alan

Hi, I am related through Alice Tydd (daughter of John Tydd and Mary Fleet) she married Thomas Phillips. I have a book on Burwardsley and it mentions a rose grower called George Tydd (he's Alice's brother). Do you have any more details on the video you mentioned? Regards, Vicki

Hi there,
I have traced my tree in Australia, back as far as Tipperary only to about the 1849, which is about 8 generations from me.. Though I know that Bridget and her brother Thomas came over by boat, I have not yet been able to link them to any other Tydd's in that area at this stage..
Regards Bryan Tydd

I have just started researching my family. My mother who is now 88 years old, 89 in a couple of months was a Tydd from Burwardsley. Her father was George Edwin Tydd born 1876 also from Burwardsley. His father was Geroge Tydd born 1842. He was born in Peckforton but also lived in Burwardsley. His wife was Ann Pleaver. My mother uncle was Alexander Tydd who was killed in the WW1 in France on 14th April 1917. I have just researched his war records. He was 26 years old when he was killed. I used to visit the area as a child and have relatives still in that area. Any info would be useful.
