Surnames: Twohig, O'hara, O'hare
My mother is Colleen (Twohig) Crowley daughter of Jerry Twohig and Mary Francis O'hara. She has 3 sisters, Eileen, Kathleen and Patrisha and 4 brothers, Sean, Michael, Brian and Timothy. Jerry had a brother in Boston that recently died. Was wondering if anyone had more family history. Not sure where in Ireland we are from. Most of family lives in Mass or Conn.

Hello,

I recently ran across your message and I am hoping I can help. My grandfather's name is John J. Twohig. He was born August 10, 1901 and passed away January 8, 1979. Once he came to America he never went back. All I know is that he had 6 brothers and sisters and one of them was named Julie (a man I believe) and he relocated in Boston.

My grandfather married my grandmother (Mary Donegan) they met in Boston and relocated to Chicago.

I recently went to Ireland and went to their home town "Kilcrohan" just outside of "Cork" and they welcomed me with opened arms. There is actually a road in the town named "Twohig's Crossing".

If any of this rings a bell, please respond.

One other thing that I can recall, he had a sister who had a son named "Cornelius".

Sincerely,

Colleen Twohig (Chicago, IL)

One more thing... Does the name Arundel mean anything?

This is woefully time late, but my wife's cousin was Peter Twohig whose daughter Catherine married Henry (Harry) Arundel in 1925/6. The lived in Rusnacahera, Cork, Ireland. We are searching for later descendants
