Surnames: Twohig
Interested in the family of Twohig sea captains that operated out of Cork, Ireland, from the 1760s to the 1810s. According to Lloyd's Registers and Lloyd's Lists, these merchant marines made many runs to near-Atlantic ports like Lisbon, Cadiz, Malaga, Bilboa, Bordeaux, Le Havre, Bristol, Liverpool, Chester, Plymouth, and others. They operated numerous ships, including "St. John Baptist," "Brothers," "Two Brothers," "John and James," "Richard," "Richard and Mary," "Friends," "Lady Harriet" and "Unity." Some of these Twohig captains even owned their ships, seemingly.

Among these captains were a "Denis Twohig" and a "Daniel Twohig" and possibly a "James Twohig." First initials of other Twohig captains were "T" and "M."

I have much information on their seafaring journeys, but little to no information on their lives in Ireland. Hoping to correct that with this post.
