Fillers from Loudon Co., VA
I am descended from Armistead Filler of Loudon County, possibly a brother or cousin of Solomon. I and am interested in any information on the Fillers of Loundon County, particulary where they came from and when they arrived.

Armistead Filler in Loudoun Co., VA
Virginia Marriages, 1851-1929, an electronic database at ancestry.com shows
FILLER, Armistead T. M. STUCK, Lydia M., Bond Date: 24 Dec 1849, Loudoun Co., VA
The Charles Blair Tavenner Collection at the Balch Library in Leesburg, VA, in the STOCKS family pages shows:
37. Lydia M S[tocks](1830-1906)dau to ___; m. 1849 Armistead TM Filler
Do you know if Lydia was STUCK or STOCKS? I am working on STOCKS in Loudoun Co. and don't have any connection for a Lydia STOCKS. If she's STOCKS maybe I can help.
The 1850 Census, R 957, P 272, L 18 shows the household of Betsey STUCK, 80y which includes Jno. Filler, 30y; and Lydia Filler, 20y. Armistead AKA John? I assume Tavenner was incorrect in naming Lydia STOCKS?

The only information I have on Lydia is the marriage record, which may or may not have her name right. I have found marriage records for Jonathan Filler (1855). He may have been Armistead's brother, Lydia's brother-in-law.

Loudoun Co., FILLER-STUCK
John, Thanks for the reply. If you ever place Lydia as STUCK or STOCKS I'd like to hear.
I assume you have seen the entries for "FILLER, A.T.M." in the 1860 1870 Loudoun Co. Census indexes. ( 1860: P431; 1870 P82; there is also a FILLER, Lydia listed on P82 in 1870. Ought to be them).
The only other Loudoun Co., Filler I have is Elizabeth A. ("Lizzie") Filler, b. 20 Sep 1845; d. 11 Apr 1889; bur. New Valley Baptist Church Cemetery; Stumptown, Loudoun Co., VA; m. 6 Feb 1872 in LC, Jeremiah M. Fawley.
Jeremiah b. abt. 1840, was the son of John Fawley (aka Johannes Phalÿ) Edith Titus.
Sources: Thomas Balch Library, Leesburg, VA, New Valley Cemetery Burial List, (unpub.): Fawley, Elizabeth; b. 20 Sep 1845; d. 11 Apr 1889; w/o Jermiah Fawley, of pneumonia.
Dodd, Jordan R., et. al., Virginia Marriages 1851-1929: Fawley, Jeremiah Filler, Lizzie A.; m. 6 Feb 1872, Loudoun Co., VA.
Hope this helps, John

Hi Again, I happened to run into another Loudoun Co. FILLER and thought of you: Sarah Filler, dau. of Fredrick Catherine Filler, wife of Jacob Shumaker, d. 18 Dec 1890, Loudoun Co., VA, 80y. I noticed Sarah's bap. m. are recorded at the New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lovettsville; have you tried those records for early Loudoun Co. FILLER / PHILLER ? Some New Jeruaslem records are transcribed in the IGI. The batch numbers for NJEL are:
M504811 C504811
and if you haven't, you might try using the online IGI with just "FILLER" "North America" and one of the batch numbers for either baps. or marriages. NJEL records have been published and I think they're on microfilm, too. Hope this helps, John

The following is listed in the diary of Solomon Filler, son of Jacob Filler, son of Jacob and Barbara Filler. Jacob and Barbara Filler came to Virginia, around 1750, lived around Hillsboro, Loudon County, Harper's Ferry. Also associated with Frederick. Jacob and Barbara had 8 children listed in their grandson, Solomon's, diary. Their son, Jacob, born 6/17/1790, married Sarah Cunard, of the Cunard Steamship Family. Three of their children, John Milton, Sarah Ann, and Solomon (from whom I descend) emigrated to Missouri and I have more information from here.
I wish I had information on descendants of John D. Conard, Frederick City, Maryland.
