Re: Looking for Twidale's in Ashby Linconshire
Hi, Just come across your message from a few months ago. I am researching theTWIDALE name and came across this from the Lincoln, Rutland & Stamford Mercury newspaper: '...and at Scampton on the 15th instant [July 1837] (by the Rev'd C MILNES, Rector), Mr JOHN TWIDALE, farmer of Pear tree-hill, Beckingham, to Ann daughter of MR SLEIGHTHOLME of Scampton...'
Could this be what you are looking for?
I am interested to know who John's parents were and if you were able to help with that piece of the puzzle that would be great!

Hi Sorry took awhile to get back to you. But yes that is my family I have a copy of that marriage certificate. John Twidale and Ann Twidale were my G.G.G. Grandparents. AS for Johns Father he is still a mystery to me that is where I get stuck.. So can't help on that front right now. I will keep digging hope I can find something soon. Shelly

Re: Looking for Twidale's in Ashby Linconshire
Hi Shelly, Thanks for the reply. I have found another who has John & Ann in their tree and would like to be put in touch with you. Any chance of you letting me have your e-address?
Regarding John's birthplace. Have you tried Nottinghamshire? It's a county adjacent to Lincs and has the River Trent flowing through. I have found a John, a farmer, born in Normanton on Trent but who moved back into Lincs. I was wondering if this could be him. Any ideas?

Re: Looking for Twidale's in Ashby Linconshire
I have found out a few things on John's parents. I do know that his father was John Twidale a farmer and his mother is a Anne Twidale. I have found a brother of John's his name was Joseph born 1816 he married Mary Ann (Fenton) on May 1 1844, He also had a brother William born 1821 both of them were born in Northorpe. If we could get Joseph birth certificate that would really help. I'm going to see what I can find. So I'm at least one step closer. Shelly Johnson

Hi,
I have just been contacted by a relative and been sent their research on our family tree. It appears the Twidales at Northorpe are who I am looking for. I be grateful for any further information you have. Regards Andrea
