In a search for my Grandmother Mary Alice Bassett Twichell in Oct., I took a picture of NBT's tombstone in Athol, Mass. Under his name it says: Killed in battle at Arfield Church, Va. 1864 Sarah E.R. his wife 1824 - 1902 Have you seen this yet? Do you have access to the 1929 Geneology study starting with Benjamin Twitchell? I only have copies with my descendents, but my uncle Charles Bassett Twichell has a complete copy that may have more info for you. Let me know if you would like a copy of the picture. There was also a site with two Edwin Twichell's I believe. Regards, Scott (2/9/47) son of Howard S.Twichell (6/13/19)-(son of Carl S.Twichell, 1895-1975)

Re: Nathaniel B. Twichell
OK, I seem to remember that name Harry Elton Bassett... also Ralph Bassett another brother? This was the Uncle of my father (Howard Scott Twichell) who cared for him and his brother (Charles) after Mary Alice died of scarlet fever on or about Christmas 1927..? His wife was Bea and they lived in Athol, but never had any children of their own. Sound familiar? Mary Alice was my Grandmother. Thanks! Scott ( 2/9/47 )
