Thankyou for replying to my posting, I have done fairly extensive research n the county Monaghan Twibills/Twibles and have traced many of them in the pattern of emmigration, it has been quite a job to extract the families from one another. but I have not come across a James in the Castleblayney group, so please I would love to hear from you.

Geoff, regarding my message of the 25th April and your subsequent reply. The FIVE brothers born in Castleblaney are as follows: 1) Matthew Munday TWIBILL 2) James TWIBILL 3) William TWIBILL 4) George Henry TWIBILL 5) Thomas TWIBILL
I obviously have lots more information, what is your interest and why?

thanks for contacting me again, my special interest in the Twibill family is that my grandmother was Twible (the family is now Twyble with one Twibill branch here in Ireland and Twible in the US) the family I was close to growing up and the name has always intrigued me as to whether such a family tree was do-able being such an unusual name. I know a fair bit about our own side of the family and am researching in association with my twyble relatives. I posted a resume of our connection on this message board, under the descendants of Joseph Twible also in reply to Cynthia Twible McGinn who is part of this family. However, I have been trying to get a complete picture of the Twibills in Ireland as I am sure that they are interrelated, but as yet I have not made that connection between the Monaghan Twibills and the County Armagh family other than anecdotally, it lies somewhere in the 18th century. Our own family has contributed to emmigration and the twible family in the US, But more so in the late 19th early 20th centuries, but they were emmigrating into a background population already in the US. The Indiana descendants of John Twible /Twibell, and those descended from other Monaghan born individuals, into New York and Pennsylvania. My interest is to, as it were map the families and tease out who is who and find the connection. What put me on the right track for the Monaghan research was that I contacted a New Zealand descendant of George Twible of Knockagolis, Castleblayney (8 of his grandchildren (Hamiltons) emmigrated to NZ.) (His Twible grandchildren emmigrated to Ontario) This contact was very providential as not only did it set me off on the right track but it has been prior to his trip to Ireland, he is arriving next week and my research has done a lot of his preliminary work. I have researched the Castleblayney records the Church of Ireland, presbyterian, and other various local records and local church records, I have visited, not too far from here and made interesting contacts, but the big problem is that there is no one left to ask. There is one very old grave stone belonging to Twibills in the church of Ireland in Castleblayney county Monaghan. Unfortunatly it is badly weathered but this is what I can make out, Twibill gravestone in Castleblayney graveyard William Twibill October 1791 aged 94?
Mary Twibill June 24 1793 aged 35? 85?
Munday Twibill December 24 (1811)
other names badly weathered William Twibill
Matthew Twibill b. 19 April 1793
another date at the bottom 16 January 1847
In the church records and other sources there seem to be countless Georges and this is part of the problem. The records do not seem to indicate who was the father of some of these different Georges. But that is why I am interested in your 5 brothers, The Matthew Munday I have sourced his records and followed his history and I have a family tree for him one of his sons Goerge emmigrated and he had another son George who lived in Shohola PA. and another son Robert who I think had a son George. There wasalso an Andrew. I may be wrong about these folk But Matthew's son John has a grave in Monaghan which I have visited. I ahve marriage records etc, burial records and gedcom files and photographs. I find it so interesting as I am not sure if any of this has been done before.
This is why I would be very keen to know who was Matthew's and the other's father to try and bring some unity to a somewhat confusing record and to make sense of the Georges. So please I would love any information that you have and I will share all that i have or will try and get what answers I can, I regularly go to the Public record office.
Here is another wee snippet of info that is intriguing, it is an extract from the Belfast Newsletter the oldest newspaper in the english speaking world still printed.

Geoff,
I tried to converse with you direct but I was blocked. I have lots of information regarding the main graveyard where the TWIBIll/TWYBELL/TWIBELL/TWIBLE/TWYBILL family are buried. The family graveyard. How can we converse, any ideas?
I can go back to 1729 with the Castleblaney family. I had a chance meeting some years ago with a William TWIBILL who is a direct descendant of the William TWIBILL that I mentioned in my last message. Guess what?? His son is also called William.

Darryl, are you by any chance a relation of Arthur Warren and Eliza Letitia Twibill?
Just asking because there is a Darryl in the twibill side of my tree and I know little about them.
Thanks, Katie White

Re: Alice TWIBILL from Castleblaney
My ancestors were Francis Power and Alice Twibill, who came to the US between 1817 and 1819 (based on the birthplaces of their children recorded in the family bible). They were married 14 April 1813 in the "Ireland, Co. Monnahan, Province of ----- (and they really just drew a line), Town of Castleblany) The bible record says Francis Power and Alice Twibill were born in Monnahan (sic), but says Alice was born in Castleblaney. Their children were named John, William, Mary, Francis, James, Eliza, Twibill, Thomas and Mary Holiday (and yes, that is her name - it's in the bible!) Could my Alice be any relation to the Twibills you've researched? margaretrutledge@earthlink.net. Thank you.

Re: Alice TWIBILL from Castleblaney
Hi, I'm a descendant of James Twibill (a different one to the one you mentioned!), he was born 1808 in Castleblaney. His father was called William Twibill, and Williams occupation was a "gentleman", whatever that means! It seems likely that they are connected somehow, but they're so hard to trace!
