This is a summery of an em exchange back in 2007 between myself and Patricia Hardie of Salt Lake:
You know this Walter Tweed, you don't fancy checking the 1834 Epping Parish Records for his Death??..which might give his age and if 1771 I recon we should claim him as ours.
- Clif
I went into Epping Parish register film 1472222 items 5-23 came across on page 86 # 685 A George William Watson Tweed son of George and Sophia Tweed buried 11 Jul 1831 4months old.
Then page 104 # 831 There was a Walter Tweed abode Epping buried 6 May 1835 65yrs. That would put him being born around 1770. Now that the age matches up with our Walter Tweed born 22 Sep 1771 in Horringer. How can we know for sure it is the same guy? Are you considering the Quendon group? Quendon, Epping and Horringer aren’t right next to each other.

I hope this is what you wanted. It’s interesting that out of that whole family John was the only one that I couldn’t find his record
Film 1702508 item #2 Quendon
James son of Walter and Mary Tweed 6th Nov 1800
George son of Walter and Mary Tweed 30 May 1802
Elizabeth dau of Walter and Mary Tweed 5 Jun 1804
Thomas Walter son of Walter and Mary Tweed 26 Nov 1807

I have lost track for a mo but yes I am considering Walter as our Horringer one....there are not any other Walters on the IGI or that I have found born at that date.
How to prove it...looking for the Marriage of Walter
- Clif
I found in the IGI a Walter Twed and Martha Boyton marrying 16 Nov 1814 St Botolph Bishopsgate, London, London. I’m going to look at it and see who the witness are, if it mentions his age and if it mentions where Walter was from. I will let you know what I find.

That would make the Walter Tweed that died in Epping 44 when he Married - a bit late for kids ???
- Clif
I went into St Botolph Bishopsgate film 380149 and found Walter Twed of this parish widower and Martha Boyton of the parish of Epping in the County of Essex spinster were married by licence 16 Nov 1814 in the presence of Thomas Hallows and E Stokes?
What are your thoughts, this Walter being widowed would make it possible for him to be married at 43 and I wouldn’t think a guy would have trouble fathering children at that age with a younger wife but if the Martha Tweed in the 1841 census in Epping district is the same Martha she would be the same age as Walter.
