The Sunderland Echo, Fri 21st August 2009, page 9, has printed a letter from a reader concerning an `Alderman Tweddle`. Alongside the letter is a photo of said Alderman officially opening The Wavendon public house, High Barnes, Sunderland, in 1959.
The letter writer states that Alderman Tweddle was a `very nice man`, who lived in a council owned property in Fordham Road, Ford Estate, Sunderland. Letter writer also states that he believed Alderman Tweddle had a son named `Ernie`.
Whilst I have your attention, can anyone relate to the marriage of a Joseph Tweddle to a Mary A Retallick which took place in Sunderland, Co Durham, England in 1894?
Regards,
Jim
