Hello, I am related to the Tweddels of Kingston. Specifically, the children of James H Tweddell and Ellen Jennie Graham, the doctors and pharmacist. I have a complete family tree for Ellen Jennie Graham, a late cousin of mine. Her last grandmother out of Ireland, Jane Donaldson, was a Great Aunt. Drop me a line if you want, markdonaldson73@hotmail.com. Cheers!

My grandfther, Richard, also born in northern England and had a brother names George. I don't much about them. He came to America in the 1920's. He was born in Nothemberland, Tyne and Wear and was married to Nora Christie. My grandmother followed to the USA a year after (he had to save for the tickets on the boat). they had 3 children, James (my father), Alice, and Richard.

Tweddell - Have you heard this story?

I am researching my Tweedel family history. I am looking into one of the stories told to the family. James Tweedel was thought to be married to Lucy Bailey. It is said that they had one son and two daughters Have proof of the son Thomas (born about 1852) and one daughter. It is said that after Lucy died that James, an indian woman, and the three children came to Louisiana. He died here in 1861. Son placed for adoption in boys home and daughter was in the home of John Hobart Heald (thought to be placed in adoption by him).

Searching for any relatives of Charlotte TWEDDELL Poston. She married Charles Poston in 1852 or so, in Quebec City. Their children were Albert Henry, Ella Winifred, and James Saxon. Her parents may have been Thomas Tweddell and Elizabeth Tweddell, or they may have been her brother and sister-in-law.

My father wrote a biographical sketch on his maternal grandfather, George Tweddle. George's grandfather was John Tweddle from Temple Sowerby, on the English-Scottish border. He immigrated to Albany, NY circa 1820; he was president and founder of the Merchant's Bank of Albany. There was also mention of a summer home near Lake Champlain.

I'm sorry, I don't have many dates to offer you.

I have always heard that we had some relatives in Quebec and that some of them also migrated to Northern New York state. I would like to keep in touch so that we compare notes once I have some trees developed.
