Ella Tweddell was my grandmother and she was born in Byker on 8 February 1898, her elder brother was Charles. Her father, George Tweddell had been married previously and so there were also 3 step-brothers in the house; Thomas, Robert, and George. Mary Tweddell, Ella's mother, died on 25 March 1932 and was buried at Heaton & Byker Cemetery in an unmarked grave with her husband George, who had died earlier. I no nothing of the boys, other than Robert died in St.Nicholas Hospital, Gosforth 0n 7 September 1956. He had been a patient there for 14 years.
