My, how ten years flies by. My 3rd GGFather, James Whiteside, married Catherine Tway, daughter of John Tway and Mary Turnipseed John (b:1814) was son of Nathaniel, who was son of John Tway and Sarah Hempstead.
Any luck yet on anything prior to 1753? Spelling may be different. Good Searching! Kim

Somebody needs to go to Ireland, Wales and Scotland and figure out where in the heck our "TWAY" ancestry originates!

I was told the name change occured to allow better pronunciation of the name. Tway is much easier to read.

Going to Ireland would probably cost less than hiring a certified genealogist! what are the spelling variations that you have seen for "Tway". Someone on here used the name Tuoey or something like that. I could use my subscription to dig into this.
